Patient Responsibilities

We ask each patient riding with Houston Ground Angels to read through these notes. This will help us to make this part of your journey more successful and run smoothly:

Each ride given is a gift – and no tips or donations are accepted by our volunteers. Our group does rely on donations to maintain operations and pay our staff.

PLEASE support us – CLICK HERE to DONATE

We ask you to complete as fully as possible our

Patient Profile – Registration form.

Your Email will be your Log In name when you next visit our site.

Pick a Password – minimum six characters – CAPITAL – lower – number and one special character

Patient profile detail is for internal use only by Houston Ground Angels (HGA) management.  As we rely on grants from corporations, foundations, and philanthropic organizations to support and fund our expenses, your aggregated (not personal) information is used to create demographics which enable HGA to make funding applications

(Each ride is when a patient requests ground transportation – we call them Missions.)  Our system records all your information in your Patient Profile – your Email is the key identifier.  We do NOT give your Email to our volunteers.

All riders please view and understand the Liability Waiver form. Acceptance of a no-cost ride from our volunteers includes acceptance of the Liability Waiver. A link to the Waiver Form is on every on-line Mission request form, the “ride is listed ” email , and can be viewed and printed if you wish – see link below.

There is no requirement to sign/return. the waiver.

IMPORTANT

When your Ground Angel volunteer accepts your mission they will contact you directly via cell phone or a text. Please acknowledge and keep the name and cell phone number of your volunteer.

Volunteers can accept your mission up to the morning of your mission.

We ask the volunteer and patient to exchange contact details  and directly stay in touch – prior to pick-up. CALL if necessary.

If you are requesting an AIRPORT mission – PLEASE provide the Airline flight number (or if an angel flight the tail number) – so our volunteer can monitor your flight arrival times.

If there is a delay or cancellation of your flight, please call or text your Ground Angel driver directly.

Changes to your contact information, flight (time or date), hotel, or pick up/drop off location – the PATIENT must contact their volunteer driver. (Be aware it might take the volunteer 45 mins to an hour to get to your pick-up point. Let them know in good time if possible.)

CALL our Mission Coordinator/Admin office , at   832-301-2816   in the event you are not able to reach your Ground Angel.

  • If a child passenger is under four years old a car seat must be provided by the patient. If a child is under eight years old a booster seat must be provided by the patient. Texas law requires young children are properly seated in any vehicle.
  • Most volunteer driver vehicles can fit a wheelchair if needed – but please add this information to your Mission Request form under Comments.
  • Notify the Ground Angel or Mission Coordinator as soon as possible if the transportation request needs to be cancelled for any reason..
